GROUNDLOOPS
Groundloops
or metallic mass detectors are used to detect metal vehicles,
from pushbikes to lorries, as they approach a gate, and then open it
automatically. They are used in many situations, and almost always
used in car parks. Groundloops consist of a square or oblong cut into
the road surface, several turns of special wire laid into this cut and
sealed, then connected back to the controller (MWZ0220 or MWZ024,
below). The position, size and shape of the loop is important, and we
will be pleased to advise on this.
